Palmerston North City Ambassador (fixed term)

Do you love Palmy and want support residents and visitors having a positive experience in our city this summer? 

As a City Ambassador, you’ll be a visible presence around Palmy’s CBD and enjoy helping visitors, residents and businesses with enquiries about everything from where to park to where to find delicious ice cream.  You’ll take personal satisfaction from delivering a warm, welcoming, and professional service to everyone exploring Palmerston North and what the city has to offer. 

Your previous experience working with people in a service or retail capacity will be invaluable in this role.  You’ll collaborate closely with the i-SITE to insure you’re in the know about everything happening in Palmy.  Your friendly and positive disposition will enable you to engage and communicate well with a wide range of people. And, if you see something amiss in our city, you’ll alert the right people to help keep our city safe and clean. 

There are 2 City Ambassador positions each 25 hours per week.

Position 1 will work Mon, Tue, Fri and Sat. 

Position 2 will work Wed to Sat.  

Both positions are fixed term December 2019-March 2020.

Drug and Alcohol Testing

As part of the Council's Management Team Drug and Alcohol Policy, to ensure the safety of those who come into contact with Council, applicants for employment in safety sensitive positions must undergo a drug test before being employed.
