Not everyone can master the delicate balance between being an expert in their field and being a good people person.
This role will really test what you are made of. You'll get involved in everything from challenging litigations, to facilitating dialogue on complex applications to come to a resolution. You will really have to be on your game to ensure that there is a fair and reasonable outcome. It also goes without saying that you will share your knowledge by taking an active role in mentoring and coaching the rest of the team.
With the responsibility for ensuring that the Planning division has the capability and capacity to meet legislative requirements, you'll be using and further enhancing your coaching and delegation skills. You'll also have the added challenge of ensuring that the team work in a proactive and customer focused manner.
You will have the genuine opportunity to develop this role and make it your own. We are big advocates of continuous improvement which is why you'll also have the responsibility for providing feedback on processes and systems; and then help your team to implement these changes. You will be expected to be a role model for your team, both in attitude and in professional delivery. Success in this role will be measured not only by your outputs, but also those of your team.
This role will not always be an easy one, but we are very confident that it will certainly be a rewarding career choice for you. We will support you with a personalised development plan to ensure that you, and the team, succeed.
