The city of Palmerston North is constantly growing and developing, living up to its vision of ‘small city benefits, big city ambition’. To achieve any growth, the management of a variety of projects is key – this is where you’ll come in!
To continue to achieve our goals and visions, Palmerston North City Council has had an overhaul of it’s Infrastructure Unit. A key outcome of this was the establishment of a Project Management Office (PMO), which is responsible for the Infrastructure Units overall programme and project management function. We’re now in need of a proven project manager to be a key contributor to delivery of the programme.
This is a role you can really make your mark on the future of the organisation - you’ll work with internal and external specialists to develop a detailed scope of programmes and projects to be delivered, including schedules and budgets. You’ll have the skills to prepare and implement project programmes to deliver the specified project outcomes and key deliverables. You’ll need to be familiar with the Local Government Act and associated legislation with a proven track record of successful stakeholder management and relationship building.
You’ll be part of a team that is key to delivering projects across the Infrastructure wide programme of works. You’ll have a tangible impact on the city, with your work in implementing key projects.
