Housing Maintenance Officer
Palmerston North City Council has 100 public housing units and over 300 community flats. We also manage over 80 other facilities that provide services to our community. We take pride in maintaining our properties to an acceptable standard and actively responding to any repairs or maintenance queries in a timely manner. That’s where you come in!
We’re looking for an organised person with property management experience to be responsible for the delivery of maintenance in the Council-owned housing portfolio, planning works for the current year and strategic maintenance planning for the 10-year plan, liaising with stakeholders and meeting their expectations, coordination and liaison with contractors, as well as management of the portfolio’s maintenance budgets.
To succeed in this role, you’ll be able to work in an efficient and effective manner and should have an excellent eye for detail as it’s important that we identify and keep on top of any repairs or maintenance requirements. You’ll also have a working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and the ability to follow processes in a systematic and logical manner.
