Community Funding Coordinator

Palmerston North is a vibrant city and community groups and Council Controlled Organisations (CCOs) play a vital role in enhancing that vibrancy. The Community Funding Coordinator facilitates growth and development within the community through administering Council’s Strategic Priority Grants, community grants programme and promoting funding related resources. The position also supports CCO’s Statement of Intent accountability reporting.

Are you talented at developing and growing strong relationships? Can you interact with a vast diversity of people and engage with high level stakeholders? Do you have excellent attention to detail?

As a member of a wider Community team you will bring with you your fine-tuned interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of the community sector and their aspirations, and the needs of community groups within that sector.

As Funding Coordinator you will need a proven record of engagement with key agencies, experience monitoring contracts and organisational performance, and proven financial management and report writing skills that reflect your strong attention to detail.

This is a permanent 40-hour role. Attendance at meetings outside of normal business hours may be required from time to time.

Drug and Alcohol Testing

As part of the Council's Management Team Drug and Alcohol Policy, to ensure the safety of those who come into contact with Council, applicants for employment in safety sensitive positions must undergo a drug test before being employed. All applicants for employment outside of safety sensitive areas may undergo a pre-employment drug test at the Council's discretion.  If an applicant fails the test, he/she will not be considered for appointment, or if the applicant has already been appointed, the employment may be cancelled or terminated.
