The Palmerston North City Council is seeking to employ a Kennel Manager to provide the day to day management of the Council’s Pound and be responsible for the care and well-being of the impounded animals. The Kennel Manager will be a key member of our Animal Control Team.
You will preferably have a Vet Nurse qualification and must have competency in animal care demonstrated through practical experience or an appropriate certificate from an independent and formally recognised training body. It will be essential to have a good understanding of the Code of Welfare: Temporary Housing of Companions Animals 1 October 2018.
In the role you will contribute to the city’s goal to be a city where people feel safe and are safe in respect to dogs and animals. You will be a member of a team in an organisation that works as one team with its communities and is a catalyst and enabler of change in the city.
